Peridot is associated with peace, good fortune, love, and happiness. It was once thought that keeping a peridot close to the body overnight would prevent nightmares. Peridot represents strength, balance, and bravery. Known as the stone of compassion, peridot can even help relieve stress and calm one when angry. In Hawaiian mythology, peridot was thought to be the tears of the goddess of fire and volcanoes.
